My maiden name was Blair & I really had the intentions of naming my first born Blair. I found out last week I am having a BABY BOY! We are so excited!
Of course as the name discussions have become more relevant, one of my friends seems pretty convinced that BLAIR totally a girl's name.
I do not want to be insensitive/naive to the idea of being teased in school if it is "a girl's name." Is it though? It seems to be working alright for Blair Underwood. I would love to hear your honest (& thoughtful) feedback.
Thanks for your help.
Re: Blair can be a boy, right?
All that being said. I still believe Blair is masculine and wouldn't think otherwise. Just like little boys named Charlie. My son's name is Carrington and I just recently found out some girls share that name but I think it is also a name that will stay masculine. His nickname Carri , however is a bit femine but he is boyish enough to handle it :-)
Blair Underwood is freaking handsome, and he graduated from a great college. Pretty great association imho. But I am a child of the '80s.
