overlap in trigger shot and BFP

Hi everyone - I used to a be regular on many of these boards.  I am now here for a friend that's going through IF and recently had her 2nd IUI with injectibles.  She is still getting positive HPTs at 10 days past the trigger...but she also had her beta checked (she is a nurse and was able to get the Rx earlier than most)...at 8 days past the trigger and is was 145, today her beta is 175.  Anyone not test out the trigger shot completely before getting a BFP?  

I would think that the fact the HCG is rising is a good thing, right?  How much of her beta #s do you think is from the ovidrel?  She is 16 dpIUI today.

    That seems like a high beta for 8dp trigger ovulation doesn't happen til 32 hours or so after trigger so she would only be 5dp ovulation for a beta of 145 that seems odd because implantation isn't complete til about 11 to 12dp ovulation

    Eta: at 16dpiui I would think its a BFP but at 8dp trigger I would think its trigger

    Yeah it's weird right?  She's actually 16 & 17 dpIUI today - she had back to back IUIs on 10/13 & 10/14.  And then she had the booster trigger shot of ovidrel on 10/20.  Sorry, I probably confused people with the trigger shot - so the 2nd trigger wasn't for ovulation but for progesterone. Her first trigger was on 10/12.  

    But still think her beta seems too high to just be from the ovidrel at 10 days past trigger, and the fact that's its rising too.

    This is why most doctors don't do betas until 14dp trigger (or booster).  It's way too hard to tell what's what.  I mean, it's going up so I guess that's a good sign, but other than that, she has to wait to make sure trigger is out.  Good Luck to her!
