Okay... I was embarrassed to ask this but I just have to, do you think I should go to the doctor? Here's my BM situation:
ER: 10/25, ET: 10/27. LOTS of bloating and very very little BM (sorry, I know, gross) since then. Since Sunday night I've taken stool softeners (after calling a nurse and getting the okay), drank prune juice, eaten bananas, etc. I've read that lots of people have these symptoms with ER/ET and all of the drugs (I'm on progesterone suppositories---getting really really personal with this post, huh?) but I'm starting to freak out a little. So far I've had 2 very small and strenuous BMs, but nothing like what they should be. Should I go to a regular doctor, or just be more patient? Today I've only eaten a prune, a banana, pickles, a cup of coffee, and pistachios. I also went to the gym for the first time since ET and walked for about 2 miles (slowly, but wanted to start getting back on track). Nothing! Just a lot of strain in the bathroom and worry that I'm going to hurt myself (or the hopeful little embies hanging out hoping to attach, FX).
I'm really, really sorry if I'm grossing people out talking about poop. I hope you'll all forgive me. Any veterans know of something I'm not doing that I should try?

Have you tried adding fiber supplements? I was like that for a few days after starting PIO, but it seems to have gotten a little better. I am also on an apple cider kick (I have drank a gallon and a half in a week), so the extra fluids are probably helping too. Oh I am also taking a probiotic (I started them when I started antibiotics to prevent a YI and since I started taking them my BM seem more regular I haven't stopped them).

I had it really bad after my last ER. I drank warm prune juice mixed half and half with apple juice. I also took colace, it's gentle. Not going made me so miserable. FX you get moving soon.

Sorry, 6-8oz of prune juiceand a cup of coffee a day relieved me after troubles post ER but I was told to take colace if it got worse, and I was willing to eat Activia yogurt if I had to (I hate yogurt)
I remember getting that and don't worry it won't last forever but it's just horrible when your dealing with it. I found prunes never helped me so I started drinking a tea called smooth move. It really helped me a lot. Sorry! Hope this helps

If it makes you feel any better I actually had to talk to my RE about this. Eventhough I knew I couldn't push anything out, after my c/p I needed to hear that from him. And he said there is absolutely no way that you can... but still, I hear sauerkraut works well for constipation (someone here mentioned it was good for something after ET- I think it was that) and I eat fiber bars daily.
I eat Saurkraut everyday! It has a ton of probiotics! I don't know if it helps with BMs, but I highly recommend it!

Constipation is the worst part of ER for me. It awful. It's usually days for me and then very irregular after that. I took a ton of Colace, ate fiber one bars, and went for walks. Eventually it all worked out for me;-). Next step may be a suppository for you if you need it:-(

I don't think anything is TMI I had awful constipation after ER (and after my LAP!) Drinking my weight in water with metamucil mixed in, smooth move tea (like pp mentioned), and a starbucks coffee helped me, but it took a few days. I think it was like a week from the start of things to the....finish, lol.

I personally would stay far far far away from fiber supplements. If you have never taken them before and don't know how you normally respond.... Me? Fiber gives me horrible horrible stomach gas pains and does not help move things along through the digestive track. I actually think there is a possibility that I am allergic to fiber!! It seriously is painful. And when you're already backed up...you dont want to add to it.
My RE recommended Miralax - its a non stimulant and wont cause contractions. It works by drawing water into the colon to help move things through. They dont recommend the stimulant meds until its a last resort....and 2-3 days without BM is not that long...I know! I Know!! it feels like forever and you think you're gonna explode!
The good news is...once you get past like day 5...the constipation will let up. I think between the trigger shot, the knock out meds for ER, and the progesterone - it just does this to ya. The first few days are really the worst. They should include a side note in your paper work about it.
If you're really uncomfortable though definitely call your RE and ask for help. Tell them everything you've done and ask what else they recommend.
