I am new here, as I just found out that I'm pregnant about a week ago. This is my fourth pregnancy in just over a year. We have a son, who was our little oops. So, we thought we would get prego again easily. 15 months, and three early losses (longest lasting 6 weeks), here we are! I'm soo nervous. I'm just over 5 weeks. Turned 5 weeks on Saturday. I'm being followed by a reproductive endocrinologist, and we've been checking my hcg leves. On Saturday (5 weeks exactly) it was 197. Yesterday, (48 hours later) it was 603. I know those are really good numbers. So, I celebrated a little bit, for having the good numbers.
I just don't want to get my hopes up. How do you all cope? Its so hard to not know whats going to happen. And, I hate that I can't get excited yet. Were/are you all on pins and needles until the end of the first trimester?
I think what I'm going to do, and I remember doing this with my son, is just set little goals for myself to meet. Like getting through my hcg level tomorrow, then six weeks, then ultrasound, then end of first trimester. You know?
And, I love having this site. Its so therapeutic to know that there are other women out there, who are going through the same things, and can support each other. Hooray for bumpies!!! )

Congrats & welcome! Pins & needles (and/or eggshells) last different lengths for all of us, depending on loss history, TTTC, etc.
Celebrate every little milestone. On the days that I find a calm about myself it's because I've really embraced the, 'I can't change the outcome, but I can enjoy this pregnancy' mentality.
Congrats and welcome! I am also on pins and needles throughout the first trimester especially, since that is when all my losses have occurred, but I find that after being a loss mom, I tend to stay worried the WHOLE time. I think your idea of setting little milestones for yourself is a good one!
Congratulations and welcome! You got it...one day at a time. Little milestones are great. They help you build confidence and faith. "Today I am pregnant and I will rejoice!"
We can't wait to meet you, our baby surfer GIRL!!!
Congrats and welcome! I mostly just cope by distracting myself with non-pregnancy-related things. I made a lot of social plans and watched a lot of movies and read a lot of good books during my first few weeks.
