Not much going on with me. We are even coming to a low time with the animal rescue so we are planning our next big events and planning how to handle the surge in animal dumping we are going to see after Christmas. Sad because we get hit hard come march and April - that is when the cute puppy or kitten gets old and the animals are dumped off on us.

Hi ladies,
We were "accepted" into the live birth guarantee program yesterday. Just need to have our consents notarized and figure how creative payment of a LOT of money. It makes me want to vomit that we are spending so much. The Suze Orman in me is saying "you should not be doing this, you've leaving too little in reserves!" Trying to block her from my mind....
Rachel-it breaks my heart that people will get rid of animals that are no longer "cute" babies. I tell my cats how lucky they are since they are spoiled rotten!

@Mrs.McIrish just remember, Suze says not to finance IVF, just adopt instead because it's cheaper and there are tax breaks if you do that At the end of the day, just figure something out that you and your H are comfortable with.
Not much going on here except for my PIO excitment from last night. I posted on PAIF about it, but long story short H thought the needle from my PIO injection was stuck IN my butt! Turns out it was in the plunger of the syringe the whole time, thank goodness! H and I are gearing up to go to the Redskins v. Chargers game on Sunday and are going to enjoy a night out of town in DC! I've never been to an NFL game, so hopefully we have fun and it's not too cold!

PA - I the love you have for the animals. Especially the less-desirable one, or how the world sees them. Personally, my favorite ones are the misfits, and I love our three misfits and wish everyone else would see the beauty in them as well!
McIrish - I agree with twists, you do what is right for you and YH. I am keeping my fingers crossed this is a success for you! Very scary though *hug*
Twists - Ahh! That's crazy! I'm glad your PIO situation turned out okay. Have fun at the game!
AFM: I have been dreading today because its the EDD for m/c #1 - Maggie. But that's the last thing on my mind right now. Libby (our embryo donor) learned her 6yo daughter has a brain tumor last week, and yesterday learned it was inoperable and incurable. It's the most deadly of all childhood brain cancers (DIPG.) They are going to lose their beautiful little girl. I'm just sick about it for them. Libby fought so hard for this her first little girl and she came to them through domestic infant adoption. She had endured years of infertility, multiple losses, failed adoptions, etc before finally becoming a mommy to this little precious little girl. They are broken beyond comprehension and trying to savor these last months with her. This disease has a median life expectancy of approximately nine months.
It's a really weird position to be in because I am trying to respect their privacy, but I care so deeply and wish I could help somehow. It's not like I live up the street and can bring over dinners, babysit kids, etc. I would literally do anything to make it all better for them. I am forever grateful for their gift of embryos, for her kindness through my loss, and it just seems so unfair they have to endure something like this. I have found myself questioning God quite a bit over the past 24 hours. How can this kind of thing happen? Anyway, if you're at all religious, or even if you are not, please just say up a little prayer that somehow a miracle happens. I know this isn't IF related, but she's our donor and very special to us so I hope you'll do me that favor.
Thank you all!

First off to Liz : that is truly heartbreaking and no mother should have to go through watching there child go through that. Ugh I'm testing up just trying to comprehend that! So sorry and hopefully you can lend support even though you are far away think of something you can do from afar. I'm sure they will appreciate whatever you can do!
McIrish: I know the finance part if this is always so stressful and I'm sure in your head your adding up all the years of money you have already spent. And been denied the final outcome of spending all that is like a knife in the heart and saving acct. when I get low about our saving all all the money we have spent I look at it like... Whatever I still have 20 plus years of working and making money and if I'm poor but a mom in the end of all this it will be worth it!
Twists : holy crap I've never heard of a needle doing this but kinda cracked up because I could picture your DHs face all freaked wondering if a needle was in your butt! Haha PA: love that your so involved with the animals!
AFM: just enjoying my husband free week lol! Nice quiet house and easy meals to make for one! Kinda feels like I'm single haha. A week is long enough I want my DH back! He's doing good at the baseball tournament in Phoenix.. They are 3-0. He could win this thing! His lifelong dream! Lol And tue is my hysterscopy and im ready. My Hcg levels are still in the 70s and taking forever to go all the way down. Tomorrow I would of been 12 weeks and about to come out to the world that I was finally pregnant... But nope here I am dealing with what I prayed would not happen.

Twists: Your story reminds me of one of our PIO mishaps! One time DH pressed the plunger down too fast while giving the injection, causing the top of the syringe to burst and spray PIO everywhere. Fun times!
Liz: I'm so sorry to hear about Libby and her family. I can't imagine what they're going through. Certainly keeping them in my thoughts & prayers.
AFM, been sick this week w/ some sort of cold/flu that doesn't want to leave. Yuck! On a better note, Boston has been buzzing today with everyone getting ready for the World Series game tonight. On the IF front - just waiting on AF so I can schedule my endometrial scratch (have any of you ladies had one done before?)
@PA: thanks for your good hearted work with those beautiful little animals. My siggy pic is my rescue mutt and I couldn't imagine why someone would dump off their pets. I love him like a family member.
@mrsmcirish- it's so funny you say that b/c DH and I were watching her show and we were laughing because she would freak out and scream 'DENIED' at us through the TV if she knew..
@t&t- thanks for the giggles:-). It probably wasn't so funny at the time though..
@liz- that is heart-wrenching news. I could not imagine what they are going through. I will keep them in my thoughts.
@lacy- yay for a DH free house! So nice to eat sushi and cookies if you want:-) Oh, and wine, too! I'm sorry you are dealing with beta hell. I really hope this resolves soon, good luck on tues.

PA: I love your Compassion for animals. Thank you for your words to the lady about the male factor infertility. I wrote several responses to her and felt that none of them were very nice. She just doesn't seem to get it.
McIrish: I hope your cycle go smoothly. I watch Suze also and I have been watching the David Ramsey stuff, so I feel really guilty spending more money on infertility treatments. But I also think that infertility treatments are unique situation that unless you are put in it you cannot understand it. It's just money can't take it with you,at least that's what my husband says to me all the time.
Twists: I am glad everything is okay.
Liz: I am so sorry to hear about Libby's little one. We currently have a 15-year-old girl in our community that is dying of stage IV colon cancer. She is the youngest person in the United States to be diagnosed. Our entire community has come together to try to raise awareness for this type of cancer in children. It are coming together we have helped the family to deal with their daughters illness. Her father's way of coping is to say, his daughters life was so that our community could come together. We have come together you cannot go anywhere in our area and not see somebody wearing a purple Sarah Strong shirt. We love her. I pray for her every night, I will pray for Libby's child too. I will also pray for you that you find peace in your sadness. ((HUGS))
Lacy: enjoy the time that your DH is out of town. My DH is also out of town this week and I'm loving it. He is a picky eater so I've been able to eat all the things he does not like. I cannot believe your HCG levels not one down yet, I will keep you in my prayers.((HUGS))
as for me: today is cycle day one, now I know why I was so moody yesterday. I start Estrace tonight and I have my first monitoring appointment tomorrow.Since I changed clinics that will be to a half hour drive one way just to get the magic wand. It all seems like this is happening so fast. Although leading up to it felt like it took forever. I am trying so hard to be optimistic but it's so scary. I pray that this works. This is my first ever frozen embryo transfer.

MrsC: yes I did a endometrial scratch and it didn't hurt at all during the procedure but cramped a bit on the way home and during that day. Also bled ALOT afterwards which my RE said would happen, so I just kept hoping that was the last period I would have for at least 9+ months! But it did work I did get pregnant after... Just didn't keep it! Good luck!

My embryo adoption blog: Wishing on a Snowflake
McIrish: I know the finance part if this is always so stressful and I'm sure in your head your adding up all the years of money you have already spent. And been denied the final outcome of spending all that is like a knife in the heart and saving acct. when I get low about our saving all all the money we have spent I look at it like... Whatever I still have 20 plus years of working and making money and if I'm poor but a mom in the end of all this it will be worth it!
Twists : holy crap I've never heard of a needle doing this but kinda cracked up because I could picture your DHs face all freaked wondering if a needle was in your butt! Haha
PA: love that your so involved with the animals!
Lol
And tue is my hysterscopy and im ready. My Hcg levels are still in the 70s and taking forever to go all the way down. Tomorrow I would of been 12 weeks and about to come out to the world that I was finally pregnant... But nope here I am dealing with what I prayed would not happen.

Good luck!
