I saw that you posted something earlier about a Certificate of Life. Where did you go on the website to find that. I looked, but I couldn't find anything. It upset me that Parker Jane didn't get a birth certificate. I would love to have something like this.

You're not butting in at all. I asked when we were in the hospital and they said she doesn't get one. They also told us that she's supposed to get a death certificate, but as it turns out, but something else similar in nature. We still haven't been able to pick that up yet.

The DH applied for a certificate of birth resulting in stillbirth because the great state of Virginia does not give death certificates for stillborn babies. As PP mentioned check on your states office of vital statistics and they may be able to help you Hun.

If you are on her main project heal site, click photography&part in the top toolbar, then select seashore of remembrance. That will bring you to a new page where you can click to see all of her art galleries. The Recognition of Life choices are about halfway down. She has lots of beautiful images!

We were't able to get any kind of birth certificate, and the. 'Death certificate' they gave us has 'Record of Fetal Demise' stamped across the top in giant block letters. The recognition of life is infinitely nicer.

***LO ticker*** We were able to request a certificate of still birth from our state. We haven't received it yet, so I don't know what it looks like, but I would go online and see what you can find. No one told us bout this - not the hospital, the doctor, the funeral home. It wasn't till someone on here mentioned requesting one for their baby that I decided to look into it.

Thank you so much for this! I looked into it, and in the last couple of years a certificate has been made available. I'm definitely going to send in an application.

Good! It really bothered me to not have any legal documentation for Colton, so I look forward to getting ours.

Thanks, ladies! I just assumed that the hospital knew we couldn't get any birth documents, but I will definitely look into it further.

I thought the same thing...the nurses even said Jesse wasn't eligible for a birth certificate and didn't say anything about a certificate of stillbirth. You would think they would know!?

Update: I looked into whether or not TN will do a birth certificate resulting in stillbirth, and they do! I'm so happy Parker is going to get a birth certificate. Thanks everyone for your comments and help. This makes me feel so much better. My baby girl deserves the same thing every other child gets as do all your babies.
