Sleep less after growth spurt?

Since Friday my LO has been eating more frequently and sleeping less during the day, will really only nap if in my arms or in the car. he's 7 weeks today and has been nursing every hour or so since Friday but today he has been going longer. I've heard babies are supposed to sleep more after growth spurts but he's not. He's still sleeping 3 hours at night, nursing, sleeps 3 more hours, nurses, then is back up again an hour to hour and a half later. I was hoping he would start sleeping longer stretches by now. Could it not be over or is it possible he just won't sleep longer? Ever? Haha that's how it seems anyway
