My midwife broke mine and I had him under two hours later! They didn't do anything else, but I had been contracting for days and was already 4cm dilated. Did anyone else hv this kind of experience? I'm a STM, that could be why, right?
My water broke and I didn't have my LO until 23 hours later. My body didn't start contracting on it's own, so they started me on Pitocin. Got to 10 cm, and she never went passed station 0. And I had to have a c-section because I was developing a fever. I never wanted a c-section sooo badly after all that.
Mine broke on its own, but I wasn't having any contractions so I had one dose of cytotec (which caused absolutely horrible cramping). I received an epidural 9 hours after my water broke. I completely dialated on my own with the epidural within 5 hours, but LO was still not in position, so I received pitocin and less than 1 hour later, he was born. So, from the time my water broke to the time LO arrived it was a total of 15 hours.
Mine broke on its own. No start of labor. Pitocin 12.5 hrs after breaking. Baby born 3.5 hrs after pitocin started. Body kicked in high gear with the tiny bit of pitocin.
*I think* about 6 hours. My Dr. broke me water around 9:00 AM *I think*....my labor was horrendous, so the time frame has been expunged from my memory....baby was born @ 3:15 PM.
My water broke at home. Went in to hospital and was a 1. Labored for 12 hours and got to just a 3. Epidural, and then pitocin because my body wasn't progressing. LO came after 27 hours total.
Mine broke on it's own, but I never went into labor, they had to start me on pitocin. After 26 hours, and only dilating to 9 1/2, and her not coming down, I had to have a c-section, b/c of the risk of infection from my water being broke for over 24 hours.

DD born Oct. 9, 2013 via c-section
My water broke on it's own at 12:20am and I didnt have LO until 5:51pm. I was induced at 7:15am the previous day. It room massive amounts of pitocin to get my little man out!
Mine broke as they took the cervidil out and he was born about 2 1/2 hours later. Although after my water broke I went from an 8 to a 10 in 30 minutes.
Mine broke naturally around 5am, but I never started contracting on my own and was on pitocin to the highest levels for hours. I ended up with a csection 25 hours later since I never progressed beyond a 3 and baby never moved down.
Re: After your water broke...how long?
With this one, it was still in tact at 8cm. So the OB broke it and she was born in like 30 minutes max.
Less than 90 minutes from the time my water broke to delivering
DS1 was born 17 hours after my water broke. About 7 of those hours I was on pitocin.
DS2 was born 6 hours after my water broke. No pitocin needed.
