Adoption

Dear Birth Parent Letter

Would someone mind sending me a copy of their Dear Birth Parent letter. I am struggling with how to write one. We are in the process of adopting for the first time.

Thanks

Re: Dear Birth Parent Letter

  • I would but ours are hand written... I can tell you this... The best letters are those written by yourself (or with partner) and come straight from your heart. We had the opportunity to read a few when we took our class and both my husband and I could tell those who we're forcing their ideas or found something online or read someone else's versus those that were written on their own, from their hearts!

I agree with the PP. I hated this letter----so what we did was tossed out everything anyone had ever written and just wrote. It turned out well :) We are in the finalization process for our son.

  • Agree with the above--- we started ours with "Hello!"  as well.

We only had a 2-page profile, so our Dear ... letter was short. We didn't do Dear anyone.

Thank you for considering us to parent your child. We know that you are giving us the greatest gift we could hope for. We feel that our best thanks to you would be to raise a wonderful human being who knows that he or she is loved.

Hope that gives you some ideas to think about.
