DH and I were out of town for the past 3 days and when we got home last night laying on the couch I had tons of BH, like 15+ / hr I'd say. I assumed I was kind of dehydrated so I chugged some fluids and went to bed and nothing eventful happened over night. Drank lots more fluids this morning then played a tennis match, and since then I've been having them pretty constant again. I get them quite frequently but this is even more than usual. They aren't painful but some are definitely uncomfortable. I know this late in pregnancy they are not uncommon, and I also know what 'real' contractions feel like and this isn't it, but I guess it's the frequency that has me a little concerned.
What have you been advised as far as BH are concerned?
DH is of course out of town so I'm hesitant to call the Dr and go in unless it's really an emergency.
Re: When is it considered too many BH?
Pay attention to how dark your urine is and keep drinking that water, and take it a little easier. If they will go away with rest and water, I'd wait till my next appt to bring it up to the doc, but you can always call anytime for peace of mind. She also said to pay attention to where you're feeling the tightening, and if it feels like a real contraction pushing down from the top/ tightening high up and not just down low on your bump, to call and come in.
I often have 6-8 an hour at night, but this has been happening since 18 weeks and there is no progress so I don't need to call. They check my cervix each week by ultrasound and I get an NST, so I know my contractions aren't doing anything.
