I will admit, I have had situations where I HAD to go to work with a sniffly cough/cold. But I was armed with hot tea, cough drops, kleenex, and I stayed in a corner away from everybody as best I could.

This is acceptable and I do not hate you for this. I'm already feeling run down, so I'm pretty sure a f'ing cold is in my near future.
as someone who recently went to work every single day with a bad cold: I have no other option. I work full time and have an infant and I get 5 paid sick days a year. I don't get to take them for me. And going unpaid is not an option.
