armpit rash

Hi ladies, I noticed last night that my 6 month old son has a rash under both of his armpits! Its red and irritated and smells a little cheesey. Gross! It doesn't seem to bug him but we're going to his pedi at the end of the week. In the mean time do any of you have experience with this? It doesnt seem like yeast. Thanks!

    My daughter had this under one arm and in one of her many neck rolls.  It's from excess moisture in those areas.  Use corn starch after a bath and keep the area as dry as possible.  Our pedi gave us an antibiotic ointment for her neck because it actually became raw and started to chap and bleed.  In between ointment applications, he told us to use a moisturizing lotion like Cetaphil and then some corn starch.  He also recommended using a moisturizing body wash.  HTH

    DS gets these off and on. Is it spotty red or just red? We just make sure he's really dry after a bath.

    Thank you! Its just red. I've been airing it out and its already looking way better. He likes when I blow on it, poor guy.
