Daylight savings and early waking

DS sleeps until 6:15 or 6:45 am on most mornings. I'm a night owl, but I make it work, of course. I'd really much rather NOT have to get up at 5:15 to 5:45 am every day, though. I'm worried about when the clocks move back!

Putting DS to bed later does not typically mean that he sleeps later. He doesn't have a schedule - he naps at different times every day (though he does usually take two naps, a morning nap and an afternoon nap). Is there anything that you know of that we can try to do to push his wake time forwards a bit?

  • I'm wondering the same thing too- we'll be on vacation and sleeping in the same room with DD, so I think we're just going to have suck it up until she adjusts

  • This happened to us last year. It really only took about a week to adjust to the new schedule. Just keep putting LO to sleep as the same time as you always do and eventually his schedule will shift to the new time.

  • Agree - I recently vacationed in a time zone that was 2 hours behind.  The first few days were a little rough but you will be very surprised how quickly they adapt.  Just stick to your schedule - I found that was the most important.  Good luck!
