I just got a message from our ivf coordinator with DH's analysis results and it's not awesome. Everything is lower than it should be asked she said we'd definitely need to be doing ICSI. I haven't researched this at all because the analysis he'd had at our old re's office was fine except the morphology was low. I'm at work so no time to research really and I'm posting and dashing. Anything anyone can give is much appreciated. Any clues to why it change so much? Thanks ladies!

1 cycle of Femara - nothing
Started Gonal-F + Ovidrel + TI 6/28/12 -- BFN
Started Follistim + Ovidrel + TI x 2 cycles-- BFN

New RE & Starting up again!!
Prepping for 1st IVF cycle!
New SA: DH has lower numbers across the board. ICSI added to IVF protocol
OHSS after ER in December: Hospital for 5 days Obviously freeze-all for our beautiful 13 embryos!
2 FETs (February and March) = 2 chemical pregnancies
My clinic does ICSI on everyone, it's just part of the standard IVF package. It can really improve fertilization rates. It think the average fert rate with traditional IVF is only 50%, where with ICSI it's more like 80% (and maybe higher, I can't remember the exact stat).
DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA
October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos
November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues. Converted to freeze all due to lining issues. 2 blasts frozen on day 6!
January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues
ICSI basically helps leave nothing to change- the embryolgist fertilizes the egg with the sperm. Men's semen can change very quickly, and for no know reason. It happens. We're doing ICSI. Good luck.
IVF #1 Oct 2013- cancelled IVF #2 Mar 2014- success.... baby girl born 11/28/14 FET #1 Mar 2016- baby boy due 12/16/16
my clinic does ICSI on everyone as well. I think its fine and wouldn't worry about it. Better success rates

Taking a break for a while, focusing on our wedding.
My clinic did not do ICSI for me on my first IVF because dh's sperm was fine and the doctor said he thought it was best to let everything happen naturally and not to mess with the eggs as much as possible. I WISH they had done ICSI because out of 15 eggs retrieved, only FIVE fertilized and I never even made it to transfer because 4/5 embryos arrested by day 3 and the one that made it to blast was abnormal. This time, I hope the ICSI helps improve our fert rate so that we potentially get more viable embryo options!
When you have time later, look icsi up on youtube...it is pretty interesting to see if being done!
Good luck!

@Neesey I know it's not really a funny situation but I died laughing at your description of your eggs being slutty and having threesomes! I didn't even know eggs could let more than one sperm in at a time! No more fun for you eggies! LOL

Without ICSI, I don't think we would have any chance. It's standard at my clinic, and I am so thankful for that. SA's can literally change from day to day, but ICSI will give you the best chance at fertilization regardless. They only need as many "good' sperm as they have eggs! GL

@kcm187 - my clinic does ICSI and traditional, but for us recommended ICSI due to DH's SA results. There was a TV segment recently (I think it was on the Today show) where they showed an Egg Retrieval, and then the embryologist was fertilizing the eggs with ICSI. I watched it on YouTube, and it is fascinating. My nurse told me that the embryologist will clean DH's sample, pick the best tadpoles, cut off their tails, and use a needle to inject the tadpole into the mature egg. Hope this helps!

My fert rates weren't stellar even with ICSI. IVF #1 was 60% and IVF #2 was 71%. I can't imagine what they would have been if we hadn't done ICSI.
