what do you keep the heat at?

when the heat is on really high, i get a headache. i'd much rather spend my money on something else and add an extra layer of clothing. plus, i slee best when it is cold. anyway, we kept the heat at 62 before lincoln but since he was born we keep it 68-70 and we roast. when it snows we dress him in a onesie, pajamas and a pajama sleeper for bed since he won't use a blanket. what is your ideal temperature? my girlfriend sleep in sweats and a hoodie when it is 110 here, so clearly there is some preference involved, lol.

  • 68 degrees.

Our biggest challenge is that the girls' bedrooms are on the far side of the house, and are really cold at night.  But even bumping the heat up one or two degrees makes it unbearable for DH and I in our room.  Last year we ran a space heater for DD, and the electric bill was out of control.  We're looking at a new solution for this winter.

  • We keep ours at 68 and 66 at night. It is pretty warm in our upstairs and anything set above 66 is too warm.

  • Between 65-70 but I'm always freezing.
  • I think it's set at 68, but the bedrooms are much cooler than that. It hasn't been that cool yet, though.

  • From 8pm-3pm, the downstairs is set to 66. It warms up to 70 so it is warm when we get home and until we get ready to go to bed. Upstairs is set to 64 during the time we aren't home and 68 when we are. So far it hasn't kicked on thanks to the heat rising from downstairs. The programmable thermostat saved me a ton last winter at our old house so I set them up at the new house. So far it seems to be working well.
