Oh I'm so jealous! We got a really nice bottle for our anniversary from my in laws but i have refused to open it. I know I'll want to have half the bottle- kind of a wine whore here.
April 2014 May Siggy Challenge: Funny Animals- Kangaroo Mating Ritual
Question if you ladies don't mind me asking-do you think a glass a week is too much? I asked my Doctor and he laughed at me (seriously) and said it was fine...but I don't know! You hear so many negative comments and warnings, how do you know how often to have a glass? It would just be nice to have a Saturday dinner ritual to look forward to type thing. No judging I promise! It's never talked about and I'm curious.
I don't know the answer, but I like your Drs style.
September Siggy Challenge: What I Sing in the Shower: Little Mermaid "Part Of That World"
Spaghetti and meatballs?!?! I want some!! I would rob a bank for some real Italian food right now.
I've decided since I often go over the 150 mg caffeine limit I should probably avoid booze. I clearly can't control my urges for things I need to limit! :P
@dani+california I'd say that you being comfortable with what you do and don't drink is more important than if it's ok (as long as you don't go over what the doctor recommends of course). If having a glass every now and then is going to stress you out, I'd say not worth it. I tried sipping wine a few weeks ago and my stomach got upset. Hoping that will pass; I'm looking forward to a few ounces every now and then!

Just kidding! I'm salivating thinking about having a glass of red wine. I'm thinking I will just do occasions as well though. I'm like 99% sure I've never said "one glass of wine sounds so great that I definitely don't want a second (or the rest of the bottle, whatevs)"
I am impressed that you ladies have the balls to drink it in public. I am by no means judging because, like PP, if I drink a glass I'm going to want Another so I just don't. But when you girls are at weddings and things, don't you get the side eye and deal with crap from others? Just curious.

@dani+california I'll take it! That may be the best internet compliment I've ever gotten. :-*

I'm not planning on drinking at all during this pregnancy, not judging anyone though! I just drink a lot normally, so I think a nine month break is a good thing for me.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
I am so jealous. We have been grilling a lot lately and I really want a "bitch beer" or mixed drink to go with. Plus a glass of wine sounds as good as cake. My husband is very judgy so I just won't indulge.
Before I was pregnant I loved my red wine, I enjoyed a glass r two while cooking in the evenings after work & a bottle r two over weekend while out with friends r going for dinner. Now I can't bear to look at it r taste it I think b/c I had such bad pregnancy sickness (unisom) is my saviour, I just look at wine now as acid & vinegar and it turns my stomach I do hope my taste buds come back .
I am in the pro-wine camp but haven't had more than a sip or two yet. Just haven't been into it. But I'll probably have a bit over Thanksgiving break since we'll be in the south Texas "wine country" visiting my parents.
My doc does not condone any alcohol while pregnant (he's a born-again Christian), so I just don't tell him. He's very conservative about most things, whereas I'm a bit more progressive.

DH made halibut with white wine sauce and I def had a small glass of that buttery charddonay that was in the sauce with dinner. It was glorious.

I love wine and champagne and all things alcohol... I've yet to indulge. I'm also one of those "once ya pop, ya can't stop" types, so I know a small glass of wine would only be a tease. I'll probably give in eventually! My mouth is totally watering. =P~
I attempted to indulge in a small glass, but didn't get past a couple of sips because I was still kind of nauseated. Now that I'm starting to get over that I look forward to having a small glass of red wine occasionally - I'll probably start on Thanksgiving!
i'd have an occasional glass but DH is very against it, so 5.5 months more I wait... sad. I'm also one that one glass makes me laugh. I'm not a one glass kind of girl lol!

I'm too scared. I will pour it in a glass, then I look at it long enuf to change my mind and hand it over to my hubby. It kills me to watch Scandal cuz she's always drinking wine on that show. And they are big glasses and they look so good! Oh well, 23 more weeks!!
I had a flute of prosecco last night and it was amazing. I bought that bottle at the vineyard last May in Italy on one of my side trips when I'm away on business. Mmmmm.
My SIL was with us and refused to even sip it because she's breastfeeding. That made me feel like a lush for about 3.5 seconds and then I got over it.
Jealous! I agree that no one knows exactly how much is too much but I don't see how one glass of wine every once in a while could be damaging. That said my once in a while might be every 3 weeks and someone else's might be every other night :)There is a bottle of Malbec on my counter that mocks me nightly but DH is a nervous wreck about this high risk pregnancy and would sit and be smug and mad and judgey, therefore ruining the fun of it. Is it unethical to sneak a glass while he is out of town next weekend? Probably, have I completely ruled it out... Not exactly! It's so easy for him to say no while he's drinking a few beers on the sofa!!
Re: Once it hits your lips it's so good
Oh and I'd be lying if I said I haven't indulged in a glass of red wine already too.
