  • Haha and it's all pretty much low fat except for the quesadillas, my family usually digs my menus
  • @sundae13 oh now I must have tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch tomorrow. Mmmmm it's one of my faves and I forgot about it since I couldn't do tomato base during pregnancy.
  • Uhh you all make me feel like such a slacker. I work four 12 hour night shifts this week so this week might be kinda messed up but these are my plans and what I went grocery shopping for today, still not sure what days.
    - slow cooker pot roast
    - chicken pesto pasta
    - turkey tacos
    - grilled cheese and tomato soup

DH will have to fend for himself some nights when I take canned soup to work for my dinner

I have 8 meals planned (until next payday!) So we pick and choose what to eat. It's not set days of the week.

    Steak
    Cajun chicken pasta
    Chili
    Caprese chicken
    Sloppy joes
    Tuna hot dish
    One pot pasta

All with various sides such as salad, sweet potatoes, asparagus, green beans, corn, French fries, chips, etc.

ETA: I heart Pinterest. I get so many recipes and meal plans from there. I make time to look at my pins and go from there.
  • I just signed up for the Fresh 20! Love it so far. Every meal I have made so far has been delicious!!!

How do you girls have time to cook a nice meal?? I feel like an asshe when I read these as we are lucky to get a full fibber much less one with veggies!

I don't know about others here...I may have a full week menu planned but I've only been about 60% successful in actually making them. We are still ordering out way more than we should.
  • I really need to start a weekly dinner menu. With being back to work now, I think it'll be easier than trying to come up with an idea.

Recently I've been really "anal" with everything. There can't e DS's toys on the floor, I HAVE to do the dishes.. Basically I've just turned into a neat freak. Same goes for dinner. If I plan something out I HAVE to do it. Ill put a show on for DS and I will have LO on her chair on the counter or maybe DH is home and I'll start cooking. I love to cook, it's sometime I get to myself anyways

I mainly cook so my dd has a dinner we never had dinners growing up so that's one thing I want for my daughter, I hate seeing children go hungry because thier mom was to busy watching tv. Plus we need to save money so grocery shopping on a budget helps
  • Not sure what we will have each day, but planning:
Tomato-salmon over brown rice with Brussels sprouts
    Chicken enchiladas
    Chicken tortilla soup
BBQ pork chops with Mediterranean couscous and sautéed green beans
Steaks with leftover couscous and some veggie
Pork tacos with onions & peppers

I am still on leave, so I do all my prep work during nap time or calm time, as I call it. If she's happy in her swing or sleeping, I take that opportunity to go chop, measure, or if I'm using the crock pot, throw everything in.

That way, when DH comes home or she goes down for another nap later in the evening I can finish the process fairly quickly.

I don't know what I'll do when I go back to work. :-(

  • What are burger bombs?!

Search pinterest for it. You take grands bisquits and stuff them with a ground beef, shredded cheese, onion mixture. Looked good.

  • We prepped a bunch of slow cooker freezer meals over the weekend, mostly from these two links:
Most of these are first-timers for us, but we've made the black bean taco soup from the first link, and it's really good. We did a bunch of pre-prepped slow cooker freezer meals before the baby was born, and it's been really nice to be able to just defrost a plastic bag and toss it in the Crock Pot. Plus, the prep is great: I sit on the couch and read ingredients off the iPad, and he stands in the kitchen and puts the ingredients in the bags. It's gotten even better now that I can have a couple of glasses of wine while we "cook."
