Specialist was really weird at appointment this morning

Hi! I'm fairly new and posted a "HELP!" question about my IUI last week. I had the IUI done on the 19th so I'm in the super fun 2ww right now. I had a completely unrelated to pg appointment scheduled with my specialist this morning (have to get certain tests done every 6 mos) and she was soooo weird.

She talked non-stop about my next cycle, Femara vs. Clomid, where to buy the pills, etc...She even gave me a chart on how to start the next cycle of drugs when this cycle doesn't work out. She is an amazing woman and I have only had positive experiences with her. She is beyond knowledgeable and super efficient so I don't think she would bother if she thought there was any chance at all that I was pg. I'm a little bummed out about it.

Anyway, prior to this, I felt like there was a chance that we might have a BFP. I'm slightly crampy but that is about it as far as symptoms go. Unless you count the raging hunger but I think I'm just using the 2ww as an excuse to anxiety eat:)

I am sorry that your appointment is weird?

What is your diagnosis and what testing have you had done? How many follies did you have for you IUI?

I had one "for sure" follie and three possibles. I can't remember their exact measurements but in my previous post I explained that I was choosing between canceling the IUI or going 24 hours earlier than recommended. I chose to go early and possibly waste money on the IUI rather than waste a medicated cycle completely. (I had to catch a flight, work stuff, etc...it was the craziness that is my life at the moment.)

I have to go in every 6mos to check my glucose levels, liver enzyme levels and to do a PAP. I have a history of abnormal PAPs. I'm monitored closely by this specialist b/c I developed GD and I had major liver issues with my last pg. It's all routine testing that has been scheduled since my last annual appointment. (this RE has taken me on as a FT, regular patient.)

I'm a bit confused here: did you think that the appt was weird because you just had an IUI done and your dr is talking about future procedures if *this* one doesn't work out? If so, then yes, that is weird. Why would she ignore this current IUI when no results are available yet? I would have asked her to clarify that. GL.

Sorry if that was unclear. It seemed as if she was just completely dismissing this current IUI....As if she knows with all the markers against me at the moment she just knows that I won't get a BFP.

Meh. Only time will tell, I suppose. And you are right, I should have asked her for clarification...it all just happened so fast it wasn't until I was in my car that I thought, "well, that was weird."

I don't think she knows if you're pregnant anymore than anyone else at this point so try not to let it get your down.
