Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Quiet Baby?

LO is just 7 months and I've noticed he's not babbling as much as before. He makes raspberries and funny sounds with his mouth throughout the day, and has huge belly laughs, but I've noticed he's not babbling as much and rarely consonants. I can usually make out some consonants when he's crying if he wants a bottle or something, but other than that not really.

He's crawling, pulling to stand, can go from tummy to sitting, so he's really good at the physical stuff. Do you think he's just so focused on that that he's not thinking about the talking part? Or should I mention this to the pedi?

Re: Quiet Baby?

  • My guess would be yes. My first didn't crawl until 12 months and didn't walk until almost 17 months but was bery verbal. The PT I met with said the brain can only work on one thing at a time.
