If you (or LO) have/has curly hair

DD has VERY curly hair. My hair could not be more straight. Taking care of DDs hair has definitely been a learning experience! I think that I am using good "products" for her hair. But I do have a question for those of you with curls... Do you wash/wet your hair every morning or is there a way for me to wash DD's curls at night, then have her wear her hair down/loose the next day? She rarely wears her hair down... But I am curious about this

  • DDs hair is mostly curly ay the ends. Fuck i hate the ipad for typing i wash her hair every 2-3 nights. She goes to bed w it half wet and really tosses at night so on the morning i brush it and then wet it/use detangler to calm the frizz. I have curly hair and never brush it after i wash it so i will have to teach her that.

I have curly and so does DD. I wash maybe once a week. Same with DD. I use curl gel then diffuse and done. I never sleep with hair down. Neither does DD and are good to go the next day. If I need to touch up spray bottle and scrunch and done.
Oh. I dont let her sleep w ponytail bc i think it would be uncomfortable but if it helps her hair then i should try.

DD doesn't sleep with a ponytail. A silk cap. At younger age, nothing.
Oooh. Sounds fancy. My poor kid. My mom never taught me anything about hair.

  • My DD has very curly hair.  I wash it every other night and use conditioner.  Brush it before the bath and then don't touch it after.  In the morning I use detangling spray and a wide tooth comb to get tangles out and then just spray with lavendar water from DevaCurl (I think that's the brand) and scrunch.  No brush except before bath and if you're doing ponytails or the like.  I LOVE her curls!

I definitely can't wash my curls every day. My hair would dry out. I use Ouidad products, which are fabulous, and this is what they say about washing curly hair: https://www.ouidad.com/blog/2012/01/19/bad-curly-hair-habits-2012/ They also have a kids line if you're interested: https://www.ouidad.com/kids
    I love Ouidad products.

I have a curly-haired boy, and we just let the curls do whatever. He has crazy hair, just like his mama. As for me, I usually do have to wet my hair every day (I wet my hands and then run them over and through my hair), but I can't wash it every day.

We wash once or twice a week. I comb out her hair after the bath then leave it be for the rest of the week.

  • I was her hair once a week and put in redken conditioner and leave it. I also use a spray bottle that has water with a little bit of the conditioner in it every day. I also get her hair wet every other night in the bath.

I too have straight hair so this was an adventure. This all came at suggestion of a stylist with biracial children of her own and it works good.

  • I de-tangle her hair every morning with my finger and use a spray bottle full of water to keep frizz down.
