Ellie Update!

I'm back at work today so I can finally give you all the update I promised last week. I'm sorry I didn't get to it before now, it's been a busy weekend (See other post!)

Ellie is doing MUCH better than she was! She is trying to get back to her own routine and everything now that we are finally home. She is starting to eat better but she's still not back to normal. I think she was up to 23.5 oz yesterday, still down about 8 oz as compared to pre-surgery. Her incision is healing great and most of the scab has fell off. I'm really surprised how quickly she is healing. She doesn't seen to be in any pain unless I accidently pick her up wrong (then all h*ll breaks loose!).

I believe she is starting to cut a tooth! She is gnawing on her fist like no other. And the drool! It's everywhere. She gave me a big slobbery head butt kiss yesterday. It was sweet and gross all at the same time.

We are still doing bi-weekly weight checks with her Pedi for a few weeks to make sure she stays on track. She is gaining, so they aren't too concerned but they would rather be safe than sorry since she ended up losing 1.5 lbs from the day of surgery to day after we went back for dehydration. They are going to keep her on an Acid Reflex med for about a month or so to make sure her tummy is healed well. They think she got gastronaitis (sp) from surgery and it make her stomach raw inside.

I can not thank any of you enough for all your thoughts and prayers over the last several weeks. They mean more to me than you know. *hugs & love for everyone*
