Hi. The dresser in LO's room has big drawers that run really smoothly. It is really nice and is solid hard wood. He loves to open and close the drawers but it is inevitable that he will get his fingers caught... I need to be able to lock it from the outside so that he can't open it at all. There are cabinet locks that prevents them to get in, but it still opens about 3 inches or so. I'm looking for something that locks the drawers closed, that is adhesive, but that is ok on the finish, since it is such a nice dresser. Any ideas?

We use these. Not 100% sure what they're going to do to the finish, but given that we'll need them to stay on for years probably for multiple kids, a little scuff on our relatively cheap desk is probably OK.

We have these magnetic locks for our cupboards, but they work for some drawers too. I love them - pretty easy to install and they do not budge when she tries to open the doors.

They would only work for drawers that have a solid even face where the sides dovetail into the front of the drawer.

They would not work on drawers that have a lip in the front - like this:

We have these as well. They work and are easy to use. However, they are a pain in the butt to install.
We have them on the drawers and the cabinets.

@jfresh @pinksuperhero - would you think that would damage the finish in a wooden cabinet? This is a high end pali italian hardwood cabinet.

@alphahelix - I saw the set you suggested. In fact I ordered some. But I think it may be the type of drawer you have in the picture.

LOL - I have to comment on the picture I have of the drawer.... I remember when his drawer looked this nice and organized... now clothing just gets thrown in there... LOL!

I think it's possible they would damage the finish when you'd want to take them off.

@singingirl96 - it looks like they might not work, the lock is about one inch long and needs to sit flush up against the front of the drawer. Dang. And lol on the drawer organization - I took a pic of the inside of Anna's drawers before she was born with all the perfectly folded clothes too, and now - ha! they are a mess!
