Meal Plans this week

Anyone have their meals planned for this week? If so, share and inspire me.

Also, post something you made last week and want to share. A tried and true recipe :)

Mine was Kalua Pork. I made it in the crockpot. The smallest pork butt at the store was 7lbs, so it made a TON and I froze half of it. It was super simple and a great base for making BBQ pork sandwiches, BBQ pork nachos or pork quesadillas.

@stasi Do you have a great recipe for stuffed peppers? LO really likes the already made ones from Trader Joes (he liked the sample so I bought em to try) so I want to make some but don't have a recipe. I'm sure there's something great on Pinterest or food.com.

@mississippicatfish - I'm going to make these for the first time:

    https://www.skinnytaste.com/2008/11/turkey-stuffed-peppers-45-pts.html

I usually just make ground turkey or beef, add brown rice (about 50/50) and then mix with a jar of pasta sauce, topped with parm cheese. That's how my mom made them growing up. I want to try something a little different, so we'll see how it goes.

I have those exact little packets of peas. He throws peas on the floor :( I totally thought he would love them. He won't even try one. I don't think he's ever even put one in his mouth. Always straight to the floor! Any suggestions??

  • I am ashamed to admit that I have never meal planned a week in my life. No wonder I'm so god-awful terrible on the cooking front! Not that I'm incapable of cooking, just that it always ends up being last-minute spaghetti or something equally simple. Sigh! I'm gonna have to give it a go next time I need to do grocery shopping.

Linden loves mustard. Sort of. She kind of cries every times she takes some, but then goes back for more and gets pissed when it's gone. Crazy kid. I might have to cover her veggies in mustard if she goes off them.

@bluebird2318 Mealplanning is awesome. It makes budgeting for food much easier, and you totally end up having a healthier and more varied diet, IMO. At least, these benefits are true for me. Weeks when I don't plan for whatever reason, I always go over budget, we end up ordering in, eating boring stuff, etc. Give it a go!
  • I have nothing to contribute to meal planning as I used to try (and always failed) so have given up. Ha. But I still stalk this to make myself feel like I am doing something.

tonir319 cheese.... a little melted cheese helps veggies go down in our house. That and canned green beans. Kid could eat her weight in them. Not my first choice, but hey they're convenient.
