Hi ladies.....Have been lurking and trying to gather all any any informatio I can get re ingarding my issues. I have a 2 year old and conveived and carried her any additional intervention. My issue is very short luteal... phase 6 and sometimes 7 days. Blessedly I conceived her after 3 months of trying.. We desperately are trying for #2 and I am 36 years old and having no success. Same luteal phase but ob put me on progesterone post ovulation which is extended to 10 days.
I will try another 2 cycles and then going to start with an RE. Have you become pregnant with short luteal and progesterone did the trhis hick.....I am so nervous and hope this can result in a BFP...Thanks for any and all replies.
Re: fertility issues you overcame to get pregnant!
This time I was not doing art but was taking a bunch of supplements. I was not on progesterone this time and my levels were normal at my first blood draw so I have not been supplemented. So, obviously, it is possible to get pregnant with a short lp without progesterone. But at the point they are typically only 6 to 7 days, I think I would be looking for some progesterone support...
With all of the above said, with both my pregnancies, I implanted very early. I don't know if that is the reason they were successful (maybe they burrowed in before progesterone could drop) or if this is a sign that my LP is short because my body does things a little quicker. I don't think there is a way to know....
Some people length their LPs naturally with b6. Never did much for me.

Our situation started sort of like yours. I got pregnant fairly easily with our first and with no medical intervention. Having our second was a different story. I did try progesterone to lengthen my lp, which worked, but didn't work to get me pregnant. I moved onto clomid which also didn't help me to get pregnant. Once we saw a RE my husband had a sperm analysis and we were shocked to find out that he had borderline count and motility and 0% morphology. One doctor told us we'd never have a child and was then shocked to find out we already had one. We tried two IUIs with no success and then did IVF and had success.
I also had testing done and my tubes were clear, but my age was a small issue, I was 36 at the time. My fsh was okay but my antral follicle count was low and I was a horrible responder to meds. At the time they weren't testing amh so I don't know what that was.
Despite our struggles with our second, I did go on to conceive naturally again, twice. I miscarried one of those pregnancies but do have an almost one-year old at home who was not just conceived without medical intervention, but while using condoms and at age 40. So, crazy things happen!
I'll be hoping for the best for you but if you do end up seeing a RE it's not the end of the world. There is hope.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
