So we put the twins down last night and DS finally falls asleep at 10pm. SO and I jump in the bed by 11 excited to get some good sleep when at 12:15 someone is banging in the door and shinning a light in out windows. I said "who the hell is banging on the door like the police?" She looked out the window and said it was the police. Evidentially some Ahole decided to kick in my garage door and attempt to steel my older daughters pink bike (that we got from a garage sale for $20) and my snowblower. The police caught him and recovered my belongings but seriously?! Now I have to buy a new door! I also had to wait up till 3am for the evidence tech to come out and take photos and lift fingerprints. Good ol' Chicago. Ok random rant done. Although I did read the Springs1 drama while I waited...one flew over the cookos nest with that one!

Yikes, glad everyone is ok... Sorry about you door.
You know what I will never understand... why people (who aren't toddlers or young children) believe that they are entitled to what you have. Like why people seriously think that because you have something, they have the right to take it because you know they are alive so they totes deserve it.
Sorry you are dealing with this.
Criminals just Suck!
Needles to say we are buying motion lights, replacing the door, putting up beware of dog signs (we do have a dog) and locking the back gate with a chain and padlock.
FYI officer said last night that criminals are breaking into overhead garage doors by sticking a hanger in the top and pulling the quick release. He suggested to put wire where the quick release spring is so it doesn't release (use the wire like a twist tie)
