On October 17 I went for my routine growth ultrasound followed by my 37 week appointment. The ultrasound showed low fluid around the baby. After the nurse checked my blood pressure she said how would you like to have a baby tonight. The fluid was measuring at 2.3 cm. The lowest they would lke to see was 5 cm. They were not sure why the fluid was low. It could of been a slow leak or the placenta wasn't doing its job anymore. My midwife checked me and I was only 1 cm dilated and cervix was still hard and high. They sent me right across the street to the hospital to be induced. Took forever to get admitted. They finally got the pitocin started about 8 p.m.

Friday morning they started to increase the dosage of pitocin in hoping that I would progress and contractions would get stronger. I felt the contractions off and on but then they stopped. Pitocin was stopped at 1:15 p.m. since I was still at 1 cm and showing no progress. The next step was to start cervidil at 2:15 p.m. That was very painful experience when the cervidil was inserted. The contractions actually got stronger and came more often. I was checked again at 9:15 p.m. I was only 2 cm dilated and cervix still high. During that check the pain was so bad that I screamed and cried. My husband was getting upset and pissed that he said that's enough! Midwife agreed and said that I was mentally and physically done. C-section was schedule for 8 a.m. on Saturday.

The c-section was pushed back to 10 a.m. since I took a couple sips of water during the night. At 10:35, October 19th Soren Michael came into the world weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. He is perfect!!

***forgot to add that my due date was 11/5***
