So little one's bday falls on Thanksgiving and we're celebrating the weekend before with a Thanksgiving themed party. We're trying to avoid traditional thanksgiving food as we'll get enough of it later in the week. I was thinking turkey hot dogs or ground turkey hamburgers, tutor tots/French fries instead of potatoes, etc. Anyone else got some ideas?

I like the sweet potato fries, too, but would worry they would get cold and gross if you are doing a more buffet style spread. So I like the sweet potato bisquit idea.
What about turkey meatballs? You could do a cranberry or pomegranate glaze on them to be super Thankgiving-y. If you have a lot of kids coming, then turkey hotdogs work, too, but if it is mainly adults, they may not love the hotdogs...
Or you could do turkey sandwiches with a cranberry cream cheese or cranberry mayo. You could even do this INSIDE the sweet potato bisquits if you make them large enough...
You could do fresh green beans with Ranch or other dip instead of the green bean casserole...
And you can put pumpkin (or butternut squash) in a zillion things-- cubed and roasted in herb butter, pureed, in ravioli...
And these pumpkin cupcakes are pretty cute: https://www.parents.com/recipes/holidays/thanksgiving/kid-friendly-thanksgiving-menu/#page=14
have fun with it!
