Does anyone know if it's safe during pregnancy?

    I had lidocaine instead of something else when I had my cavities filled due to being PG.

    Check with your ob.

    Most local is ok if you are out of first tri (my dentist wont touch me with a ten foot pole right now...broken filling).

    I asked about getting a mole removed and my doctor said it's better to wait. The anesthesia does get into your system even though it's only local. So if you can wait, it's best to do so.

    Due to surgical interventions I needed during pregnancy, I was given both spinal anesthesia and conscious sedation by IV.  Abby did well with them and was not permanently affected in any way (although she was pretty quiet the day I had the conscious sedation).

    Local anesthetics are much more invasive.

    There are plenty of safe anesthetics that can be used during pregnancy.  The doctor administering it will know if it's pregnancy safe or not.
