Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Good "real foods "

LO has been eating purées for a few months now. He's had all fruits, all veggies, and meats. Today at breakfast I gave him some tiny pieces of dry pancake and he adored it. So I know pancake isn't a great choice with all the sugar and salt. But what foods are you giving LO? I plan to mash some banana and maybe also some soft potato and try that and ground up so,me plain grilled chicken. But other than that, I'm at a a loss.

  • I buy the organic fruit cups and slice up pears/manderian oranges/peaches etc and feed those

  • My daughter eats plain pancakes, plain waffles, eggs, toast, pasta, french fries, steamed carrots, potatoes (sweet and white). I tried chicken for the first time last week and she didn't really care for it. She still eats some purees especially the different flavored fruits.
  • LO just eats whatever we're eating as long as it's relatively healthy and not a choking hazard. (We do BLW.) She had scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast today. She loves banana, apple, pears, broccoli, chicken, guacamole/avocado, refried beans on a soft shell tortilla...

Our guy gets gas from everything we have given him so far, but that doesn't mean we're going to stop feeding him! Gas in fine as long as baby doesn't seem to be in pain.

  • How do I make a photo at the bottom of my posts?
  • Our girl eats an entire soft-boiled egg every morning for breakfast.  She's 8+mos and our ped said to give her everything, except for honey, shellfish, and nuts.  I still make purees for her, but she's starting to get picky.  She loves the fruit purees, but isn't as big on the meat and veggie mixes.  We also give her little bites of whatever we're eating (within reason, nothing fatty or fried or too processed).  She used to like yogurt and now she won't touch it.
