Bedrest breakdowns?!?

Anyone else have days where they have a breakdown? Mine was today over the fact that I can't do anything for my 3 and 1 year old girls. It's hard for them to understand why mommy can't do things. It's only been a week on bedrest, so I don't know if those feelings will get easier or harder as time goes on. Really just stinks

I'm sorry. My ds was 3 when I was on bed rest. It is hard and fustrating. Try doing activities you can with them in bed. Reading stories or cuddling watching tv. My ds did seem to understand more as time went on. Also my parents took him on special trips/activities and that helped too if you have anybody local who can help.

I have been on bedrest For 3 weeks So far and had a breakdown last night. I notice I contract more when I get upset then I started feeling bad for having the break down. Ugh. I am sorry it does suck. But its best for the baby. How many weeks are u? Hopefully u won't have too much longer. Try to stay maybe? Like pp said do crafts with your kids, have lots of snuggle time and watch movies with them.

I have break downs all the time too. I feel so out of touch with everyone and everything being stuck in the house.

I have a 2 yo DD and have been on bed rest for going on 6 weeks now. I can't say it gets easier but you will get in a routine. LO's are less affected by it than we are, I believe. I live about 5 minutes from my mom's house so it's nice when she comes and gets her because I know DD has a fun time over there. DH works evenings so he normally takes care of our morning routine (not saying it has gone smoothly...lol) and when my mom can't help out, I just lounge on the couch while DD watches her shows , colors, plays with our cat and her toys, etc. I do have to prepare simple, easy meals when I'm home alone with her. I know it's not ideal, but we have to eat and I make sure we have simple, easy things to throw together.

Just remember, it's temporary. I've cried plenty over the fact that I can't go out and do special things with DD before LO gets here. But at this point, I can't change my situation and I know soon enough I will have both my girls at home cuddling with me and going out on special trips with me. Hang in there.

This was me just last night. I've been on hospital bedrest for over 3 weeks and yesterday I was just bored beyond belief, sick of the food, and just didn't want to see or talk to anyone. DH is at home with our 21mo old and it's hard for her to be in my room too long because she's very active. It's killing me to always have to rely on someone for anything I need- more water, laundry taken home(and brought back- a challenge!!), food from the outside world, toiletries if I run out, etc. I know it's hard for him as well, but at least he has home, a car, a kitchen, DD and all the comforts at home- that said I think this is wearing on him as well.

Today is a new day, DH and my parents are visiting, I know I'm in the best place for LO to continue growing and for me not to overdo it at home and my scheduled CS is on Friday. Just take it one day at a time and know there are going to be those dark days and they will pass.

I have a 3 1/2 year old and I have to say the first week on BR was the hardest. It has gotten much easier. We still send her to daycare everyday even though I am home. That has helped but I still get sad I can't walk with her to the park. I just keep explaining this is only temporary. It would be a ton more difficult with a younger toddler. I couldn't imagine.

We were sending DD to daycare twice a week up until a couple weeks ago, and it really helped. But there's been some nasty stuff going around there and it's not going to get any better with flu/cold season here. And I'm pretty nervous getting closer to the end that DD will be sick when I deliver. I really want her to be able to meet LO asap. I've become somewhat of a germaphobe since becoming a mom. :-/

I had a 16-18m old and it was hard. I spent a lot of time on the couch w/ her and she would come snuggle me in bed. I'm really worried if it happens now because I have 2 and they are older than DD was (3.5 & 2) and they get SO bored at home on the weekends. Ugh.
