How are you trimming finger nails?

We started out with baby nail clippers. My husband snipped the babies thumb once and so now we are filing them.

He had scraped himself so badly even though I've been filing them everyday. It's going on summer here and ready 90 degrees so covering his hands seems to hot.

How are you trimming!

Exact same thing happened. We file all the time now. Those nails grow like weeds!

We're using clippers. We started with filing but it takes forever and they grow back so fast I'd be filing them everyday! I haven't clipped any skin but DH is terrified of hurting her so he refuses to do it. Maybe try waiting until he's asleep?

Would love to hear advice on this, DS nails don't seem to be long enough to clip but they get crazy sharp so fast. I've been filing while he's awake but it's getting to be a struggle, he wants no part of it. I'm really afraid he'll wake up if we try when he's asleep, do you wait until they go down for the night to do it?

I actually just bite them. At first I thought it was gross but I just do it when he's sitting with me and he doesn't mind it. I'm too afraid of the clippers!

I use baby clippers but only do it when she's nursing. She is calm and content enough then to stay still.

I do it when she's nursing with clippers. She sometimes pulls them back but I just keep trying. Sometimes it's easy other times I only get a few fingers done a day

I have my mom do it when she's babysitting, lol. Or have DH do it. I can't be in the room while it's getting done, for some reason it makes me really anxious.

I had been doing it when she was asleep. The last time I stuck her in the boppy and did one hand at a time and she just watched me intently. I started clipping around 2-3 months with a baby trimmer. Before then they pretty much broke off on their own.

DH usually does the nail care. He actually filed them for a good bit after LO was born. We couldn't seem to fit the baby nail clippers around his nail to clip them right. So day after day he would file. Now after LO eats and is resting, DH usually small normal clippers and it works just fine. Just have to make sure LO isn't moving around like crazy :)

My husband did the same thing! My poor LO was waking up with little nicks on his face every morning. We have also resorted to filing, which is working fabulously.
