gloves that fit a 4 yr old?

my kids really want gloves instead of mittens this year but I find that everything is really big. I looked on land's end & measured DD's fingers and she just barely is at the measurement for the low end of the small size which means there would be tons of extra space at the end of every finger & wouldn't work well.
Does anyone make smaller sized gloves that are warm? Would love the soft/fuzzy fleecy kind but the knit kind might be the only option...
