Check out this list of baby names!

I was looking at a Facebook crafts for sale site. I saw a post about nursery letters. The sample pic included some pretty pink polka dot letters that spelled Crimson. Yes a baby girl named Crimson. I'm pretty sure her parents are those people who go around greeting everyone with " Roll Tide" The post made me curious and I found this article.

It contains some very uneek names :)

That's cuz folks around here don't know that - means dash. They'd mispronounce the name La line A
    Haha.
  • I also want to share that my insanely republican inlaws wanted me to name my child Palin....now I'm off to see how popular that name has become :)

Hey I was pretty astounded by it and writing it down didn't make it hurt my brain less. It was just too much for me to handle.

  • Wow, Crimson is actually pretty tame in that list of names. Kenzleigh? I'm surprised there aren't any "y's" tossed in there for good measure.

  • My mom used to work with a lady named Velveeta. I wish I was joking. Guess her mama loved some cheese.

I love it!!! But I'm also insanely republican so that may be why :)

A while back we had a thread basically saying what if you named your baby what you are the most in pregnancy. Maybe her mom just went for it.
  • For a name that ridic, Malayshia is prettyyy high on the list...

  • Do people not think of what these kids have to deal with as adults?

I was searching instagram #twinstagram last week and came across twin girls Heaven and Nevaeh. ::barf::

Wow, just wow on their names.

Also, I know its not on that list, but one of the most awful names I've ever heard of is Abcde (pronounced Ab-Sid-ee).

    Edit: words are hard.

Working in health care you see A LOT of crazy names. By far my favorite crazy name is La-a (pronounced La-dash-a).

Edit: Woops! Didn't read the whole post, didn't see someone already posted this name.

You can download the social security administration name lists for the past hundred years.  These include every name used in the entire country (for more than 5 people).  I did so for an argument I was having with a friend.  La-a is not on the list.  It is, in fact, an urban legend, and a racist one at that.

Abcde, however, is on the list.  #-o
I love that you looked this up. I've always been quite sure that La-a was not real, but had no proof!

Absolutely love you for this....so tired of the La-a story. So many people "know someone who knows someone"...you'd think it'd be in the top 10.

I swear I thought I saw it in an article, print article at that, which is why i mentioned it. I have to say I'm glad it doesnt exist though. Is it possible that only one person has it and thats why its not on the list? Or is it a confirmed urban legend? That is very interesting though that such a list exists.
