We're atheists and we frequently donate to churches in our area. I have not been struck down by lightening yet. The people I know from the churches are aware of this. They even let me inside the church. Shocking, right?
Why are people so weird? We give money, boxes and bags to a church food pantry and drop off used clothing at another. I'm pretty sure the recipients don't care about the religious views of the person that provided food to their children.
Wasn't there a study recently that showed that atheists were actually more compassionate and generous than people who considered themselves highly religious? @sandyclam posted it once I think.
Yep, @Theisens. It's science, beeyotch. I'm too lazy and apathetic to search for the study but basically, atheists are more likely to be altruistic than religious folk. It makes sense if you look at it like this life is all atheists have to live for and religious people are living for the afterlife.
I also don't understand that women's comments. She knows what atheists are about? Apparently she doesn't. Atheist don't worship the debil. Why is it necessary to have the belief in God in order to help the less fortunate? You mean people just help other people because it's a good and nice thing to do?

This always cracks me up. In order to worship the devil, you have to believe he exists. No god also means no Lucifer.
