Hello :) Just Beginning

I'm new to these boards and hail from The Bump app. I'm a MOD over there but our precious apps are being retired :(

DH and I are in the very early stages of our adoption journey. We have yet to decide between private or through our local children's aid. Any tips or advice?

    Hi and welcome.

    There are FAQs at the top of the board that may be a good jumping off point. We just updated them recently.

    Which route you take really depends on what works for you and your family. We went through private domestic infant adoption, but you'll get feedback from people who've used all sorts of routes.

    Welcome! My husband and I are also at the very beginning of our journey. The FAQs are helpful. Hope to see you around!

    Started TTC July 2012. Missed m/c & d&c 9/12 11w. Natural m/c 1/13 6w. Chemical pgs 3/13 & 8/13 around 4w. Currently TTA while saving for adoption.

     Hashimoto's with irregular cycles  DH- 37 Severe oligoasthenoteratozoospermia

    TTC since May 2012

    HSG- all clear

    March 2014 - RE appt. 
    April 2014- Saline sono all's good, terrible SA results - 8 sperm found all abnormal
    May 2014- Fert Urology- Bilateral varicoceles, recommend Donor Sperm
    12/2014-  Surprise natural BFP  EDD 7/31/15 Plan:  Starting foster to adoption, natural cycles

    Welcome!  I am a hopefully soon to be adoptive parent going through the State Foster Care system.  Do digging on everything and see where your heart guides you.  There are no wrong answers just right answers for you and your family.

    Welcome! We are doing foster-to-adopt but using a private agency. I have many reasons for that, mainly just the lack of response with the government group and the constant, attention, tlc and care and assistance from the group we are using. We figured out who we wanted to go with by finding all the local agencies and hitting up their open houses/intro sessions. We chose the one we were most comfortable with, and who was the most responsive to our questions.
