Belly Support Bands

I am having some hip pains to the point of limping by the end of some days and also horrible pains in my rib area on the right side in the front, side, and back. When I went in for the rib pains they guessed I pulled a muscle and gave me muscle relaxers which are a sedative. So therefore, I can't take that at work throughout the day. I am also not sold that it is a pulled muscle!

Someone had mentioned to me a belly support band. Have you used one? If so what one? Would it help with my above mentioned pains?

Are there any other things I could try?

I am ready to throw in the towel at work due to the pains. My job is a 4K teacher (with a 65 minute commute one way) in which I spend 24/7 with my students minus my 30 minute lunch break. I have no aide either. We don't get art, music, gym, etc. like everyone else. I also don't have much time at all to just sit down and take care of me! But once I leave work, it's all unpaid and financially I need to be there. I want to prolong working as much as I can but without also putting anything into jeopardy!

Re: Belly Support Bands

  • I have one. It's a hate love relationship. It does help to an extent but they are not the most comfortable and don't really do much for the hip pain for me anyways. It does support my back but it makes it even harder to breath. I got mine from a medical supply place it's actually super soft and doesn't cut in and isn't really noticeable under clothes. It was about 30$. It does get annoying to wear after about 45 minutes and I hate to wear it when I'm sitting down. Also I feel like I need to readjust it as babies shift positions and I hate how it makes me feel like I'm suffocating even more. But some people swear by theirs. All you can do it try it out see if it helps!

  • I used one with my previous pregnancy and it worked to relieve the pressure. I second what Melissa says. I also got mine at a medical equipment place.
