Do you wipe down baby every diaper change even if it's only pee?

I started a debate about this once and people felt very strongly about it. I do because of pee and some people don't because they think the wipes will irritate their skin. I always wipe and ds and has never had a rash from it. It smells like pee to me if you don't wipe, but I have no fucks to give as long as you aren't changing my kid and don't want to wipe every time.

Of course I wipe when I pee, but my underwear isn't meant to whisk moisture away from my skin. Diapers are. Now, I still do when I get the notion to, but if he's being particularly wiggly or I don't have wipes on hand, etc., then I don't worry about it. But soaked diapers, I will wipe down thoroughly and then let him air out before putting a fresh one on.

But I definitely get the inclination to wipe every time. Urine can be very corrosive to the skin and cause a host of problems. But I would think diapers do a pretty good job of keeping it off the skin as long as you don't allow them to become saturated.

Just my thoughts. Feel free to direct me to anything that would indicate this to be incorrect.

I wipe, then use the new diaper to fan the moisture off his bottom. He laughs every time. Weirdo

I don't always wipe for pee diapers. DH always uses at least two wipes. I say he's being wasteful, but he says he's being hygienic.

I only use wipes when they #2. I was a clueless FTM and asked in the hospital. I was told not to, so never do.

I was told not to in our Infant Care class, so I don't usually. However, after say an overnight diaper or particularly wet one, I will wipe her down.

I said no, but mostly because he has super sensitive skin. Pedi suggested minimal wiping.

Almost always. Haven't once or twice and we ran out of wipes or couldn't find them in a timely manner.
