Family Themed Costumes?

Do you coordinate your family's costumes around a theme?
This post inspired by someone on FB that managed to theme her family around insurance companies (she's Flo, baby is the Gieco Gecko, and her SO is the Farmer's Insurance guy) and I thought it was super neat, even though themes aren't really my or my SO's thing.

No, but I'd consider it if I found the right theme.

  • I said ain't nobody got time for that, but there is one "family" costume theme we've got planned for the future. Mostly because my H and his best friend want to dress up like Harry and Lloyd in their ugly suits and Zoe will be the suitcase or something.

  • I don't usually, but am this year. MIL gave me a Cork football (soccer) uniform in 2T when I was pregnant with DS1 and DH's aunt gave us an Irish Strip (Gaelic Football uniform) for DS2. So I'm going to borrow a soccer uniform from the high school team and we'll be a little mismatched team.

Mostly because dh don't dress up.

  • DH and I have dressed as a couple, but we haven't done a family theme. There's no way I'd get all 3 kids to agree to one.

I was SHOCKED when MH bought a blonde wig for this. I am kind of shocked I'm doing it. Is it too late to back out? We are going to Trunk or Treats tonight.
I love trunk or treats events.
    That's pretty cool!!!
One year dh did dress up. In his military uniform. But wait for it.........

He was already in the service. Lolol

  • My kids are doing a Charlotte's Web thing this year and figured I could be Fern fairly easily. Dh said no to being Templeton. Buzz kill.

    @Klondikebar

    This!

With the age range, no way I'd get our group to agree....

  • I'm obsessed with coordinating costumes. For B's 1st Halloween we were "duck, duck, Goose" B and I were ducks and MH was Goose from Top Gun. Last year B was a ref, I was a football player and MH was a coach (and "yelled" at B all day, it was so funny because B kept throwing his yellow flag). This year we are all going as Toy Story characters.

I have all boys in my house and I don't know how much longer the coordination will last...

Normally no, but this year LO wanted to be Shaggy from Scooby Doo and insisted I be Velma and DH be Fred. We have a Great Dane who is going to "be" Scooby. That seemed pretty easy so we are going for it.

Lol we have a pitbull named Zelda and I really want to dress her up as a princess and DS as Link from the video game, but we're going to wait a year or two so he can actually carry around a toy sword without throwing it down or chewing on it every few steps.

I'm in the "if the right theme presents itself" category. I don't have any desire to wear a costume I wouldn't wear on my own and be comfortable in, but if something our style showed up, I would consider it. Especially something that was just a coordination of normal clothes and a few add-ons over something I would buy as a full costume.

  • SS here. DS and DH are being a minion and Gru. DD gets to be a girly thing on her own, since she has had to coordinate with DS for her first two Halloweens.

  • We will be themed this year because DS is young and has no say in it, but when he's older, we might just all do our own thing. He can choose his costume, and maybe we'll match if we're going to a family party or something, but otherwise not match or
    not dress up.
