Love, love, love. On the list for this LO! I go back and forth on the spelling. I like the simplicity of Marlo (and I *think* it's the only spelling that's exclusively female), but I also like the connection to playwright Christopher Marlowe with this spelling. And I've thought that Marlow has the benefit of being "Harlow with an M" for people who are unfamiliar with the name.
Love Marlowe and could probably get on board with Marlo. However, I'm not a fan of Marley as a nickname (I still think dog because of Marley and Me). Will that bother you at all?
It's the name of a huge discount furniture store with a cheesy jingle in the area where I live, so I could never give a human being this name.
FWIW, even the furniture store's name is a "smoosh" name of the original owner and his wife: Marion + Lou = Marlo.
Also, from a distance it looks suspiciously like Mario. If you must, use the aforementioned Marlowe but even this is a last name. Honestly, even without the furniture connection, there are too many reasons not to use this.
