Success after IF

6 month sleep regression?

S turned 6 mos last Saturday. On Tuesday she had her shots (including flu) and it's been downhill from there. Tuesday night I ended up having to hold her in the rocking chair for her to sleep (she woke up in crib after sleeping about two hours and screamed any time I tried to put her down). Next night - 10:45 she flipped out. Same thing every night but at different times and I end up having to put her in the swing to keep her asleep.

She could be teething. She learned to sit up a few weeks ago but isn't at the crawling point yet. The only change I've made is I did remove her bumper from her crib earlier this week.

So what are your thoughts? She goes down like a champ (I have been trying to put her down later at night - closer to 8 than 7:15). But doesn't stay down. I feel like she hurts or something is wrong. Is it just that she needs to CIO? It's like she doesn't even open her eyes - she just screams. :-(

TIA for your advice.

Re: 6 month sleep regression?

  • Sometimes if I put K&A down too late and they are overtired they don't sleep well at all. She also might just like the attention. It could be teething too, in which case I would wait to sleep train. This sleep stuff is so rough.

  • Aww poor S! G has also been funny at night lately- she just learned to sit up so I think it's exhausting her.

I wonder if maybe because she can see out of her crib without the bumper it may be overstimulating? Although if she's not opening her eyes, that wouldn't really make sense.

I keep telling myself "This too shall pass." Hope the same for you guys!
