It's been a rough week for me, GD wise.
I started Insulin (lantus 10 units daily) last week, and still wasn't well controlled so I had to go to 15 units of lantus daily as of today. I've been trying so hard to watch what I eat, and I'm frustrated that it didn't work.
Plus my OB wants to start weekly NST/AFIs and weekly OB visits. I did talk with him about the possibility of inducing early. Lucky for me, we are on the same page and want to let nature take care of it, so no induction.
I am definitely uncomfortable and don't like being pregnant, but I also want LO to bake as long as intended.
Sorry, long and not really a question, but just had to get it out
Re: *** Gestational Diabetes Check In 10/25/13
Love tit for sharing. Not cause I love your the fact that you're on insulin
I've been testing blood sugar for a week and a half. I've been sick and taking Sudafed + lots of cough drops. My endocrinologist (& @jyparker725) said numbers were a little higher when sick. But other than that my numbers have been controlled with diet. I have been good with what I'm eating. It's basically the same way I are for years before I got pregnant so it's not difficult. And it'll be easier to lose weight after. I see my OB Tuesday so I'll see about induction and whatnot.
Hope all my GD ladies had a good week!
:x
The good news is that I had an ultrasound yesterday and everything is normal. Baby is measuring one week ahead, 47%, 4lbs 14oz. So far no monster baby!
I still feel like there is no way I will make it to my scheduled RCS on 12/4. DH and I decided that I will be leaving work next Thursday due to the amount of stress it is causing. Today I was assigned five days of on call when I am 39 weeks.
What do you do for work? I'm wondering if I'm going to make it to my maternity leave also.

I don't think I cooked dinner all week because what I want is carbs (pizza, pasta, pancakes, dairy queen blizzards and yummy biscuits or rolls, etc.). I am bored of the food. I eat one of about 4 different Weight Watchers frozen meals for lunch with a piece of bread and cup of milk. Breakfast has been either a Nutrigrain bar or half an English muffin with cheese. Dinner has been salads,4 piece chicken nuggets, baked chicken and green beans. I don't cook much and neither does my DH. When DH and I are at restaurants I always have him get me a gulp of Sprite or something because it doesn't seem to be raising my blood sugar two hours later.
I keep on reminding myself I only have about 35 days of this to go (I am 35 weeks on Sunday). I am glad my appt this Tuesday actually is with my OB and not the PA or NP, because I want to know what she is thinking for the plan for the rest of this pregnancy. I haven't seen my OB since September.
I told DH that I might gain weight after I have LO just because I'm going to have a list of foods I want to eat after she comes...lol (I really am not going to do that, but it feels like it sometimes when I think of all the food I want)
It's my understanding that insulin tolerance can increase as you progress in pregnancy, so as you get more pregnant your glucose numbers may get higher even with the same foods. Ugh. Sounds like it's not just me dealing with fluctuating numbers.

Just felt the need to tell you ladies that.
I knew things would be high last night I had too many crackers with my cheese and a few bites of DHs pasta salad after his softball game so fasting was too high so I know I really need to watch it!! I know it's only for a few more weeks but it's hard to change your way of thinking so abruptly and around the holidays!! I haven't told many people so they are offering many tasty sweet treats that I have to graciously accept and then give to another teacher!! Thanks for listening!
