transitioning from room-temperature formula to cold milk

We have recently switched my son over from soy formula to soy milk. He doesn't seem to mind the taste of the soy milk but refuses to drink it cold. I know he doesn't mind the taste because he will refuse it until it's just the right temp and then chug it down. I called my doctor's office and they said it's OK to warm the milk up either on the stove or in the microwave but to be sure to shake it up in case of hotspots if done in the microwave. I neglected to ask how long to put it in the microwave for. Help please! lol. The nurse said over a few weeks we can gradually warm it up for shorter periods of time until he's willing to drink it cold. She did let me know he may never want it cold :( I hope that's not the case. Any moms successfully transition a stubborn baby like mine? How long did it take and after how many days did you decrease the time?
