NT scan and freaking out from results

So I had my NT scan today and was told the fold was a little thicker than they like. The measurements I saw were from 3.3- 3.5. They keep talking about how I will be 35 when I deliver. I am freaking out. I never should have done this test.

I'm so sorry. I know completely what you are going through. I would tell you not to worry or panic but you are going to do that anyway. I definitely recommend whatever DNA blood test they offer you. It will provide you with the peace of mine you need. Definitely talk to the genetic counselor. They are fantastic and really put me at ease while we waited for the final results.

I'm sorry ur going thru this right now! I had this screening done like 4 weeks ago, mine came back with a 3.1-3.3 measurement so they did the verifi blood test done, i got my results back a week later with great news, everything looks normal, and we also found out were having a boy!! So just hang in there, nothing is certain and is in ur favor!!

Our measurement was between 3.5 and 3.8. We did CVS and our results all came back normal. I know it is really scary. I hope you get some more testing and get good news. Talk to a genetic counselor. DH and I didn't and completely regretted it later (I think we were a little shocked and overwhelmed and not thinking clearly).

I'm sorry you got scary news. The Nt just assesses your risk; it's not a definitive diagnostic tool. Hopefully you'll get definite answers after the next test!

I also had a high neck fold measurement. The first tri blood screen also came back as higher risk for Down syndrome at 1:36. I had the panorama blood test drawn on Monday and an anxiously awaiting results. My dr has also ordered a higher level ultrasound at 17 weeks and fetal echo at 20 weeks.

Are you following up with anything? Or just waiting for the blood results for the complete odds from the NT scan for now?

I actually just got back from the hospital from getting the blood draw for the maternit21 test. Should have those results in 7-10 business days. She is sending in the bloodwork that will give us the odds too. Should have that early next week.

I'm right there with ya! Waiting for blood test results to come in sometime next week. Hang in there! And try not to worry. I know, it's hard but whatever will be, will be.

I know it is hard not to worry, but chances are that everything is 100% fine. Like others have said, the measurement levels are set so that it catches more than necessary. There are a ton of women on this board with high measurements that later have everything turn out perfectly normal. It's good you had the test so that you're aware if the baby needs more monitoring or if you need specialized care. And hey. the MT21 test gives the baby's sex. That's always fun to know.

I'll keep you in my thoughts.
