Halloween events for young toddlers?

I decided I'm going to make my 16 month old a Halloween costume this year. I think he's a little young for "real" trick-or-treating, so I was wondering if there were any Halloween events (either on the actual day, or earlier in the month) in the area that a child this age would enjoy. If it matters, he's still not walking on his own, if that limits us at all.

I think there are lots of events at churches and community centers. I know there is one at Amma Parenting Center that we went to last year.

Zoo Boo at Como Zoo is great for all ages! Como recommends arriving after 6pm for less crowds...you can see everything at your own pace and definitely be done in less than a hour:)

Camp Spooky might be an idea... I know the DCP that DS goes to has a "Harvest Fest" for all the kids which is a great time.

Mostly with the kids what we do is dress them up in their costumes and go around to family/friends places instead of the actual trick or treating...

Thanks for the ideas! I actually was planning to take DS to Sever's last weekend, but unfortunately it was rainy. Hoping we can make it work sometime before it closes for the season.

We just got a note that New Life Academy in WBY is having a "Trunk or Treat" on Halloween where people decorate their vehicles and hand out candy from their trunks... This year they're doing a Noah's Ark theme... Sounds interesting - especially since the school itself doesn't do ANY sort of Halloween festivities with the kids...

Speaking of Trunk or Treat, Crossroads church is having one at their new location in Cottage Grove, I want to say it is off of 80th and Jamaca but you might want to check that. It's from 6-8p on Halloween. There is also a free fall festival at the main Crossroads campus on Woodbury Dr (2 mi south of Bailey) on Oct 25th from 6-8. Crossroadschurch.cc for more info.

I took my niece and nephew to Springbrook last year, they were 7 and 5 at the time. We all had a pretty good time. I would go again.

Just saw a sign at the White Bear area YMCA that they're having a halloween thing on Friday Oct 25 from 5:30-8p free for the community.

Cub Foods does is having a free Halloween thing on the 29th. I believe it is all Cub foods. We went last year and DD got a pumpkin bucket, mini pumpkin, and some other goodies.
