DH got an order from the attorney yesterday with a court date for BM being in contempt. My ? is.. it just says order at the top of the document, not order to appear. This court date is set for next week and we can't get the attorney to respond so we don't know if DH has to be there or not.
DH is second guessing himself on what the attorney told him at the last court date now. DH first said BM was in contempt for not showing (3rd time BM hasn't shown) but nothing would come of it unless she misses another. Now DH is saying maybe he misunderstood and they atty said he would try for contempt but it probably wouldn't go anywhere. The letter from the atty that came along with was very short and vague. It doesn't say what the contempt is for or anything so it could be for her missing her visits or for missing court. I'm being more curious (nosey) with this last part BC I do want BM to get at least a taste of what she deserves.
I just don't get the wording of the "Order" or "Order to Appear". I'm not sure if that makes a difference?
Re: question about contept document wording
This is what DH was thinking too. The atty finally emailed me and said DH does need to be there just to "testify that she hasn't paid a dime"
I also think she'll get a slap on the wrist, if she even shows up that is.
