Mirena is out finally

And it was a bitch to get out. Apparently the continual, random cramping (one of many symptoms that my old OB blew off) It was having was because...it was embedding in my uterine wall! The NP was quite concerned for a few minutes and it took some work to get it out. But once it was out, getting the paraguard in was NBD. The new NP was kind, unlike my old OB, and used a lidocaine solution on my cervix to numb it. So anyway, I'm glad the damn thing is out.

    I did a lot of research at work on our med data base and on medscape, and there are a lot of lawsuits surrounding it. I gather that it tends to migrate to other areas of the body and or perforate the uterus

    And there's a lot of anecdotal evidence that the hormones do go systemic

    That's one of my worst nightmares regarding that do hickey, second only to getting ku. I'm glad you got yours out in time. Hope you feel better.

    Yikes! I'm curious, did you research the paragard a well because I've heard that it can impact into the uterine wall too? Did your new OB have any concern that it might happen to you again with the paragard? It's interesting how these things can affect everyone so differently.

    I have the paragard and I've had random cramping lately but not every day. Hoping its nothing but now I wonder if I should be concerned...

    Im glad you got it out. I'm waiting for my OB to call me back because I'm planning on doing the same thing you did. Please let us know how the paragard works out for you!
