PA mommies: Law Against Touching Belly?

My mom said that she saw on the news (she's in Bucks County) that PA has passed/is trying to pass a law banning strangers from touching a pregnant woman's belly.

Has anyone else heard this? The only web news article I could find on this was from ABC 7 in San Fran.

I would like to print this out and carry it with me so when creepers in the supermarket try to touch my belly, I have defense lol

Honestly, I hope it's true. I got Jimmie John's today and the delivery guy tried to touch my belly. I need backup lol

@wilburbud - I know, there are so many other things they could be working on. But I think it's awesome. I HATE when people, whether I know them or not, touch my belly.

Uh, in my state a random stranger touching another person against their will is called offensive touching. It's a misdemeanor and would apply to a stranger trying to touch your belly or any other minor physical offense.

Maybe I'm the strange one who is completely comfortable stepping back and telling people please don't touch me when they try. It really seems like overkill for this to be a law especially when we have much bigger issues to deal with.

I wish NC would pass this law. Everyone knows we have lots of stupid laws but this would be helpful! I can't stand people thinking they can touch me just because there's a kid in there.

So a little more info. It's not a separate law, but a woman was consistently pestered by a particular person who always wanted to touch her belly even though she said no. She filed harassment charges against the person.

It's kind of pathetic that people have to be told that it's not acceptable to grope someone. It IS groping no matter what body part is being grabbed.

I can't go to the store without someone lunging for my belly and my neighbor periodically comes over to poke me (yes, POKE) to 'see if I'm done'. Is this a southern thing? Because I had no problems when I visited my mama in PA, in retrospect, that may have been because of this law.

I can honestly say that no stranger has ever tried to touch my pregnant belly. And very few friends/family have tried it. I must give off some serious "back the eff off" vibes.
