Can I start a quick DH vent?

We are moving Saturday- next to NOTHING has been packed.  The last four nights I've been over at the new house for 2 hrs/night painting while DH sits on his ass on the couch because "there's nothing to pack."  I took today off work to pack all day while DS is at daycare.  Sooooo last night DS doesn't sleep well and he wakes up with a little bit of a cough, great!  So DH took him to daycare but if it gets worse and we have to go get him DH just assumed I'd go!  I'm like "hello???? The whole APARTMENT needs to be packed!" That will not happen if I get him.  He said "I have to go to work!"  I'm like "I took off work just to pack!"  He's so flucking frustrating sometimes!  I don't have time to bump I need to go pack... but gah! I just needed to vent real quick.  Yes, we still have tomorrow, but we are literally gone the entire day between it being our angel's birthday and collecting things in storage down in SD.

  • Good luck Petunia! When we moved into our house 3 years ago my husband was useless to me on the packing front as well! I single handedly packed everything one day while he was at work because he was driving me crazy over it.  I also threw away a ton of his shit that he never even looked at he just was moving boxes that never got opened with him.  He still has no idea that I threw away a bunch of his crap before we moved.

  • Moving is stressful anyway. GL! I bet you can get much of it done today. If you give him a list of what to pack, would he?

  • Arrggghhh!!  That's so frustrating!  Good luck with the packing.  You are definitely right that nothing would get done if R was around.  Babies aren't very considerate, are they?  :-P

  • Son of a BITCH!! d/c just texted if he still sounds how he does in like 20 minutes I have to come get him, DH is still being a dick about it.  I told him the appt won't be ready to go unless he can take DS to my parent's house for the day he says he can't do that.  Seriously, I want to punch a wall.

This is why women are the stronger, smarter sex. Men are clueless sometimes. Sorry petunia.
Last time we had moved it was very last minute and we had to pack very quickly (like 3 days to pack and move a whole house). My husband just started grabbing trash bags an throwing shit in there. It was actually kinda funny.

  • When we moved this summer I had to pack by myself with LO. It was very stressful and I was up until 1 trying to get everything finished the night before we moved. The next day we still weren't finished and I was throwing things into boxes as my brothers and brother in law and husband were moving out what had already been packed. It was a nightmare. So, I totally understand the moving stress.
