My son is close to outgrowing his Graco Snugride, and I'm researching convertible car seats now. I'd like to stay reasonably priced, preferably below $150. I'd love to hear what car seat you use, and what you like/don't like about it. Thanks!
Check out this FB page called Car Seats for the Littles that is made up of car seat techs who can help you choose the best seat for your child, car, and budget. Here is a link of their recommended convertible car seats and their pros and cons. I found it SO helpful!
IVF #1 BFP b/g twins!; loss at 23 weeks due to I.C. and PTL.
IVF #2 BFP 5/26/12; due date 2/6/13; TAC surgery 7/20/12, blessed with another girl & boy!
You may have to join the group to see the link, I'm not sure.

We have the Graco My Size 70 in the Tina pattern. It's listed on BRU at $179.99 but I signed up for their credit card and got a 10% discount on my first purchase. We like it but we have to get a new car to put it in. DH drives a Honda Element and the back doors are "suicide doors" in that they open the opposite way than normal which makes it hard to get DD in and out of the carseat. She hasn't technically grown out of her infant seat yet, it's just real snug. I have the convertible seat in my mom's car right now since she's our primary daycare provider at the moment and is always taking DD out and about.
There's also the Graco My Size 65 which is a little cheaper. DD has been 95th-97th percentile on height & weight all along so I wanted to get the bigger seat just to be safe.
Both my husband and I have Graco My Size 70 for our DD. I really like them! It was super easy to install and fits in both vehicles with ease. DD seems quite comfy. Good luck on your search!

ETA: Our 3 yo is rear facing in ours right now. When baby outgrows her infant seat, she'll get moved to the MySize.
