OK, we're all [cranky, hungry, angry, hangry, etc., insert your uncomfortable feeling here]. Maybe it's a post-HDBD hangover of sorts. So let's try something fun.
Go into your way-back machines and find a picture of yourself from anytime before 20 weeks and post it here, and answer this GTKY question: What's one change you've had during this pregnancy that caught you by surprise?
Throwback this Thursday to the first and second trimesters, y'all!
I'm surprised that so much of what I read/heard about pregnancy turned out to be untrue, from the morning sickness (which was never confined to the morning) to the nesting instinct (which, come on, at 34 weeks, is it really going to kick in now? Methinks not).
ETA: This is probably not even a baby belly. This is probably three slices of a pizza and a salad for dinner the night before.
I think I'm most surprised at just how much of a toll pregnancy has had on my body -- and I've had, by all accounts, a very easy pregnancy. I never got morning sickness at all. I actually moved halfway across the country during pregnancy. I'm basically doing fine. But it's still been hard, especially the last couple of weeks. I don't think I realized how tiring it would be to carry around the extra weight, and how lazy I'd feel when I felt unable/too tired to do something.
6 weeks at my wedding and was totally worried that people could tell I was pregnant. Scarlet letter A style. Meanwhile back at the ranch... And 30lbs later!
I am surprised that the fatigue and moodiness have lasted the entire pregnancy. I didn't have a "honeymoon" second trimester this time. The pic is from 14 or 15 weeks. Sideways because it is from my old phone.
Here is DH and I at a wedding when I was like 6 weeks probably. I had no clue I was pregnant but looking back my boobs look stupid huge! How did I not notice that? I found out like 2 weeks later I was KU.
I think the one thing that has surprised me is how much my body has changed. I just feel fat and uncomfortable. I hear all these ladies say "oh its so beautiful" and just think what the hell is going on with their pregnancy that I am missing? I gained a LOT of weight and I really hate myself for it now but I will get it off soon enough!
Also bonus- DH just noticed his dad who was drunk at the time was out on the dance floor shaking it with his cane to some Jay Z...best reaction face ever!
@MamaHanna Jeez, you had so many events to go to this pregnancy! I went to one engagement party in August and I thought THAT was one too many events, ha!

Girl tell me about it! I have a wedding next Friday too! That is my final wedding apperence until baby. I can't tell you how happy we are to have a great excuse to get out of these things!
Something that has surprised me this time is how exhausting it is being pregnant and chasing a toddler. With my last pregnancy DS1 was 5 years old so it was much easier.
Pretty sure this was around 14 weeks or so.. I thought I was huge then. Def just bloat lol.
I'm surprised at how fast this pregnancy has gone. My DF said it was 'like a blink' and I was like 'umm.. No.' But looking back at pictures from 9 months ago, it really hasn't dragged like I thought it would.
I don't have a lot of pictures from my early bump but this is right around 18 weeks. I think the thing to suprised most was also how fast this pregnancy has gone. It doesn't seem like that long ago I found out I was pregnant.
This is DH and me at a metal concert in Santa Cruz....probably about 8 or 9 weeks pregnant (like just barely after finding out a few weeks before):
One change that has really caught me by surprise is how I've handled the big stuff vs. the little stuff during pregnancy. Normally I worry about the big things, and I just let the small stuff roll off my shoulders. It has been completely opposite during pregnancy. I have had some huge things come my way, and have been completely calm about them, but the small things are what seriously get me going (like I become completely irrational). Very strange. Plus I cannot believe how emotional I am. I am usually very level headed.
And just for shits and giggles...I'll throw in pics of me on my due date with the other two. Labor contractions had just started when I took the first one and me and my fat face were en route to my induction in the second one.
The biggest difference is my size! I'm as big now as I was in each of these full term pictures. I'm terrified of what I'll be in 9 more weeks.
Here is my 17 week bump pic. I remember thinking it was SOOOO big! Hahaha! I am most surprised by how much my body has changed. My boobs are seriously huge and weird!
This is me at 14 weeks at our gender reveal party before I found out we were having a GIRL!!
What's surprised me is how many different types of pains are associated with pregnancy. Half of which I've never heard anyone mention by the way. For ex I have carpal tunnel and can barely write, where's my heads up? Ha
Sorry I attached twice and don't know how to remove.
This was me around 14 weeks. I was worried I was getting to big too quickly. What a joke!
Honestly my pregnancy has been pretty straight forward so far. I guess the rib pain is worse than I thought it would be. Also, I have yet to have any cravings at all. I eat practically the same as I did before preg.
Oh man, here's my 13 week picture, first one I took! I was like there's totally a bump...ya it's bloat!
I'm definitely surprised by how much my body has changed...the short of breath, big boobs, heartburn, not sleeping. I mean I guess I didn't think of all that happening and I've been super lucky with feeling pretty good overall, so I cannot complain, just crazy how everything changes.
Here is my 15 week pic. I had wanted to take all of them wearing that same dress, but I can't even squeeze it over myself anymore! Surprises? Hmm - I'm surprised by how easily I tear up at sentimental things, I was really surprised when my boobs started leaking, and I'm surprised I'm still an A cup - what gives?! It's not really surprising, but it is amazing how in love I feel with this little baby before I've even met her.
This is 16 weeks and I remember sticking out my belly to make it look bigger. I am surprised at how calm I have been about my pregnancy symptoms for a FTM. Now, I have freaked out about everything under the sun for when he's here-but my actual pregnancy...I've been pretty calm. I have been more uncomfortable than I thought I would be, but I have been good about "oh-just chalk it up to pregnancy".
19 weeks. I dd show way earlier, but only started taking bump pix around 14/15 weeks. I can't seem to transfer those pix from the bump mobile photos. I didn't think i would feel AMA, but I do. I was surprised by the return of nausea in third tri. First time in 4 third tri pregnancies.
Let's see if my phone will let me post a bump pic. And as far as the biggest change that suprised me is how close not only my SO and I became but my mom and I. Also i realized just how out of my hands this entire experience is, I've learned to let a lot go and embrace the ride.
6 weeks at my wedding and was totally worried that people could tell I was pregnant. Scarlet letter A style. Meanwhile back at the ranch... And 30lbs later!
What caught me by surprise about this pregnancy is my expanding ass! haha Just because my body never changed this much with my other pregnancies. This one is doing crazy things to my body!
This was "match day" for DH, two days before I found out. I must have been 5 or 6 weeks pregnant. Biggest surprise has been my distaste for vegetables. I was such a health nut before pregnancy that I expected to be crazy particular about the foods I would eat. Now I only really want carbs and junk food.

Also, here is week 10 vs. week 30. INSANE.
Edited to add comparison photos.

::Holy messy apartment, batman::
Biggest change... Facial hair it looks like I have a dark peach fuzz beard
Met 9/2001
I am most surprised by how much my body has changed. My boobs are seriously huge and weird!
P.S. - Yes, this is definitely a good-lookin' group of gals.

Here's me at 18 weeks vs 30 weeks! I remember thinking I was gigantic!
Your pics are always beautiful! And I remember all of your bumps pics from before you had your crib in LO's room! So crazy
